Ron Dickerson Seaford High School coaching legend passed away on October 5, 2019. Coach Dickerson ( Captain Dick) made his mark as a coach at Seaford High School, after playing football at Laurel High. Dickerson played at Shepherd College in West Virginia and came back to Delaware to begin his coaching career at Seaford in 1969 as an assistant. He took over the program in 1973 and remained at the helm for the next 28 years. Dickerson won nine Henlopen Conference titles and won state championships in 1981 and 1983. Dickerson also coached baseball at Seaford for seven seasons, in which he won 102 games to go along with two state titles. Seaford High School's thoughts and prayers are with the Dickerson family.

The Delaware Department of Education recognized Seaford High School as a World Language Proficiency Champion School. SHS is one of four high schools in Delaware who were recognized. SHS was the first high school in the state to have every World Language Teacher recognized as a proficiency champion!

Woodbridge comes to the Nest on October 11th for a varsity football game. We are asking those who attend the game to wear orange to honor former Woodbridge Quarterback Troy Haynes who lost his battle with cancer earlier this week. Although many schools are going orange for this week's game for Troy, we wanted to do it for the Woodbridge game one week later. This week we will honor Troy with a moment of silence and have his number 4 painted in our end zones.

The 2020 Yearbook is currently on sale for the lowest price in over 5 years. Order forms are available in the main office or from Mrs. Cannon in the Library Media Center or can be ordered online at www.yearbookordercenter.com. You can reserve your student's yearbook at the affordable price of $45 by placing a deposit on it and ordering it with Mrs. Cannon prior to September 30th when the prices will go up. The SHS FFA have spent many hours helping with the clean up of Woodland Park and doing landscaping around the Woodland School. The Woodland School House like many other school house's eventually became the Seaford Special School District which fed in to Seaford High School which is our current middle school.

Good Afternoon. As the new school year comes upon us we wanted to reach out to all of our Juniors and Seniors in regards to a parking ppermit. Students may begin to pick up the parking permit application beginning Monday, August 12, 2019. They will need to complete it with a parent signature and have his or her driver's license , registration, proof of insurance and the $10.00 registration fee. We will have a Parking Permit Day on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 8:00AM to 12:00 Noon when students can come in with their application and other materials. Students will be able to get parking passes once the school year begins but we wanted to have this day as a way to get the majority of the students their parking passes before the first day of school. WBOC ran a story about Seaford Police Department becoming the SRO for the School District.

Cpl. Tyler Justice of the Seaford Police Department will serve as the SRO for the Seaford School District.

Mr. Travis Rogers, ELA Teacher at SHS, defended his National Power Lifting title with USPA. In addition to his teaching duties Mr. Rogers runs our after school strength and fitness club in our weight room.
