Seaford School District Athletic Director Mr. Gerry Kobasa was elected as a member of the Class of 2020 to the Delaware Sports & Museum Hall of Fame.

College Board is providing resources for students during the COVID-19 closure of schools.

The annual Seaford High School Blue Jay Pageant has been postponed. This is a preventive measure as we continue to monitor the Coronavirus. We thank you for your understanding.

Seaford High School's Pro-Serve team won 1st place in the Management category at the state competition. This qualifies them for the national competition being held in Washington DC later this year. The winning team members are Yessica Galvez, Justin Bazan, Rodrigo Galaviz and Jaiden Savage.

Congratulations to all the Educators Rising Members who competed Wednesday, February 26th at the State Conference and Competition.

Approximately 300 students from the state of Delaware competed in the event. The Seaford High School Chapter of Educators Rising competed in six different competitions, and came home with one Bronze Medal, and THREE Gold Medals!

Kendra Johnson earned Bronze for the Pre-K Children’s Literature Book that she wrote and illustrated.

Taylor Jenkins earned Gold Medals for Public Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and Job Interview.

Taylor qualified for, and will represent Seaford High School and the State of Delaware, at the National Educators Rising Competition in Washington, D.C. in June.

The following winners had a tremendous showing at our BPA State Conference.

Lara Jean Francois- 1st place Graphic Design

Rose Allacin- 2nd place Digital Media Production

Sara Laguerre- 3rd place Administrative Support Research


These student have now qualified to represent Seaford and the State of Delaware at the BPA National Conference in May in National Harbor, Maryland.

SHS and SMS wrestlers were honored at Feb. 18, 2020 Board of Education Meeting

On Saturday February 15, 2020, SHS and SMS FFA students participated in a conservation project that will have a direct impact on the biodiversity of the Nanticoke River. The project netted a total of 64 wood duck boxes that will be placed along the Nanticoke River outside of Seaford later this month, providing essential nesting cover for wood ducks along the river. We may be joining Delta Waterfowl for the installation of the boxes.

Seaford NJROTC defeats Lumen Christi High School

Seaford NJROTC defeated Lumen Christi High School 850.0 to 722.1 in the National Air Rifle New Shooter League. They currently have a 3 - 2 record. Seaford NJROTC was led by, Samuel Dorvilier who shot a 234.0. The remaining contributing members were Christopher Krumm, Korey Smoot, and Saleem Perez. Seaford NJROTC is from Seaford, DE, and is coached by Anthony Rowe.

Lumen Christi High School currently has a 1 - 3 record. Lumen Christi High School was led by, Frankie Locke who shot a 231.8. The remaining contributing members were Jack Murkowski, Anthony Rybicki, and Amara Warren. Lumen Christi High School is from Anchorage, AK, and is coached by Brian A Ross.

This coming week Seaford NJROTC has a bye week. While Lumen Christi High School will compete against American Legion Post 290 from Stafford, VA. American Legion Post 290 currently has a 1 - 3 record.

These two teams are competing in the National Air Rifle "New Shooter" League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league exclusive to athletes in their first year of competition. Teams are from high schools and junior rifle clubs throughout the United States. Over 10 weeks each team competes in 8 games. Each week, each team is paired with another team with a near equal skill level.

In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.

Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. defeats Seaford NJROTC

Shooting their highest score of the season Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. defeated Seaford NJROTC 2014 to 1521 in the National Air Pistol League. With the win, Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. is in ninth place overall. They currently have a 2 - 3 record. Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. was led by, Eric Taylor who shot a 523. The remaining contributing members were Daniel Foshee, Sam Page, and Jacob Schwartz. Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. is from Eagle River, AK, and is coached by Eric Taylor.

Seaford NJROTC currently has a 1 - 3 record. After the loss they are in twelfth place overall. Shooting their highest team score of the season Seaford NJROTC was led by, Nicholas Hastings who shot a 416. The remaining contributing members were Korey Smoot, Dominic Breitenbach, and Aesha Patel. Seaford NJROTC is from Seaford, DE, and is coached by Anthony Rowe.

Next up Alaska Eagle Eye Shooting Club, Inc. will compete against Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports from Winfield, KS. Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports currently has a 1 - 2 record. While Seaford NJROTC has a bye week.

These two teams are competing in the National Air Pistol League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for clubs throughout the United States. Over 10 weeks each team competes in 8 games. Each week, each team is paired with another team with a near equal win-loss record.

In each game the teams compete in a 60 shot air pistol match. This competition is identical to the Air Pistol events in the Olympic games. Each athlete will shoots 60 shots, with each shot worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 60 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.

Business Professional of America (BPA) was honored at Legislative Hall where House Concurrent Resolution passed both the House and Senate recognizing the work of Delaware BPA. SHS Senior and local chapter President Marley Fishburn attended along with Mr. Schumacher, SHS Business Teacher. The group picture includes Dr. Lisa Wilson from Delaware DOE, Rich Jester of JP Morgan who serves as BPA Board chair and Representative Baumbach who wrote the resolution.
